I first want to start of my saying how much my kids enjoyed reading Adventure Of Meno books. Especially my 5 year old son who is starting to read. The words are simple yet silly and unique, which always make my kiddies chuckle! The illustration is colorful and quirky....kind of reminds me of Dennis the Menace meets The Jetsons :) We got to review 2 of the 6 book collection. Book One: Big Fun and Book Two: Wet Friend. I love that at the end there is a Pronounce Menu that helps to decipher what Meno and his friends are talking about! There is also a song to sing with your kids at the end. I give Adventure Of Meno two thumbs up! I can't wait to buy the other books for my kids.

NYC & The Martha Show Highlights

My mom and I took the train into NYC for a girls getaway! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on 26th St. The hotel was recently redone and was super chic! The beds were so comfy, pillows like a cloud and a staff that was very accommodating. I actually forgot to pack my tooth brush and the front desk provided me with a complimentary one. I was impressed! Plus the hotel was about a block away from the Martha Stewart Show (the main reason we made our way into the city) so that was an added bonus!

We got all dressed up and headed to The 21 Club on 52nd street. We sat in the Bar Room which has walls and ceiling adorned with antique toys and sports memorabilia. There were about 5 gentleman waiting on us and it seemed they each had a job. Here was what we had for dinner....everything was shared :)

Mixed Greenhouse Greens, herbed goat cheese, roasted marinated beets, fig-balsamic vinaigrette

Panko-Crusted Crab Cake, roasted sweet corn purée, chipotle sauce, pickled fennel, violet tatsoi

Grilled Dry Aged Sirloin,roasted fingerling potatoes, baby vegetables, hen-of-the-woods mushrooms, bordelaise sauce

Pommes Soufflées

Vanilla Bean Crème Brûléewith espresso biscotti

Grand Marnier Soufflé, crème chantilly, fresh berries

The next day we woke up at 6:00 am got ready, ate breakfast at the restaurant next door to the hotel then walked down the street to stand in line for the Martha Stewart Show. We got there pretty early and when we got our seating tickets were #15 and #16 in line. It was nice to finally meet some of the bloggers whom I had only known from twitter and surfing blogs. Everyone was super sweet! We were finally seated in the studio and awaited the start of the show! We had a blast, Martha was amazing in person and it was really neat being a part of the taping. My husband tapped the show for us and we were hoping to be seen a couple of times since we were right in the front row. No go! I think there were a couple side profile shots....we were sitting on the wrong side. In front of us was the staff and cameras. Oh well, it was an experience and we had a blast! Plus we walked away with a cookbook from one of the guests. Now I was hoping for a laptop or ipod, but the cookbook will do :)

The rest of the time was spent navigating through the city, shopping, trying different restaurants and eateries. We did walk all the way down to Chelsea Market, a indoor market place filled with divine shops. My mom got a lobster roll that was so fresh....and we even got 5 pieces of chocolate for $9! That was a rip off but still yummy. I know my Mom wanted to do more sight seeing but I get home sick so fast and could not wait to get home to my hubby and kids. Thanks Mom for the memorable trip!

Martha Stewart Here I Come!

I am headed to the Martha Stewart show in New York City! The taping is thursday, but we are making a girls getaway of it and staying over night. My mom is coming with me and she has made reservations at Club 21, a well known restaurant they she and I can't wait to try out. I am sure some shopping will be on the itinerary at some point. Should be fun! I will be blogging about it during the show. Everyone in the audience will have their laptops, blackberry's and iPhone's. So stay tuned!

I'm Still Here....Barely!

So these past couple weeks have been so hectic and crazy! Besides all the holiday mumbo jumbo, I have been busy with work, the kids and life in general. To top it all off I was so sick the week of Christmas...it was probably the sickest I have ever been. So slowly but surely I am picking up the pieces and attempting to return to normal. I also started up a jewelry business and have been devoting a lot of my extra time to that. So please hang in there....I have some great review/giveaways coming up. 2 Feet of Snow!!!

We got hit hard by the blizzard here in New Jersey! Our cars were buried, the patio set is barely visible.....it's going to be a white Christmas!!! The kids had fantastic time playing in the snow, and it was hilarious watching them try to walk in it. It came up to my son's hips and my daughters shoulders! After about 2 hours of playing outside, everyone came in for chicken noodle soup and yummy hot chocolate :)

Then He Turned 5

Five years ago at 1:09am someone decided to make their way on our lives almost a month early! With Mommy, Daddy, G-Mom and Nonna there to welcome him into the world, he arrived and my life was changed forever. He was a serious little soul from day one, always thinking and taking in his surroundings. Last night was the last time I kissed my sweet 4 year old. His fourth year of life was wonderful, so many new experiences and adventures. He really is a smart fun loving boy who brings so much joy to our family! Happy 5th Birthday Nicholas!!! Mommy loves you more then you will ever know.

I don't even know where to start with this review.....I was blown away by everything! First of all the clothes were packaged to perfection, my husband even waited for me to get home from work before he opened the box. He was afraid to mess anything up ;) Each piece of clothing was bundled tight in tissue paper separately and there was a little card that told you some information about the company. But what really blew me away was the laminated washing/care instructions for the clothes....everything you would want to know and how to keep the clothes looking their best! How awesome is that?

Madison Browne sent my daughter the BEBEBO Pale Grey Dress with White Collar. This dress is simply divine! The dress is 100% wool, but feels silky soft. Made in Italy, the dress has cap sleeves and a bubble hem that falls sweetly to the knee. The dress may look slightly plain in the picture, but on my daughter it was stunning! Paired with the BEBEO Pale Pink Ribbed Crossover Top the outfit was perfection. The cardigan is also made in Italy and is super soft. Made from Merino wool, cashmere and angora its sure to keep my sweetie warm during the cold months. To top it all off both pieces are machine washable.

We recently took the kids to one of our local Cranberry Bogs. It was really neat and we learned all about how cranberry's are harvested and that NJ is one of the main producers of the cranberry. Fun stuff! Saturday Nicholas and Melina had a blast at our church's harvest festival then out around the neighborhood trick-or-treating! They got way too much candy :)

Toby, owner of Sophistikidz sent my daughter the most beautiful dress for us to review!!! It came delicately wrapped to perfection in tissue paper, I did not want to open it! The pink jumper is from the European brand Butterscotch, which designs dresses and skirts from England. The pink jumper is completely adorable! Made from pink wool and soft cashmere, it's adorned with the sweetest appliques flowers, grey rhinestone belt and dainty tulle at the bottom of the dress. It's perfection! I love that Melina can wear the jumper by itself, with stockings and shirt or paired with a sweater. She adores the dress and frolics around the house, spinning and twirling.

I was able to review the Orglamix Floo Powder Collection from the Ministry of Magique line. The colors in this collection include Brimstone, Fog and Obsidian, which all blend in magically together. Since I received the shadows I have been wearing them every single day! I absolutely love mixing and matching the colors. Some days I will wear just one color and the next day all three! The shadows are so smooth and light, making application simple. When on my lid you are really able to see the luminous shimmer that lasts for hours! You would be surprised how little shadow you need to complete your look....it definitely goes a long way.

Wordless & Wordfull Wednesday ~ Philadelphia!

Sunday I came back from my conference early and we took the kids to Philadelphia for the day. The weather was absolutely perfect to walk around and see the sights! We ate lunch, walked down to Penn's Landing where they have the battleships docked, Nick really enjoyed seeing their guns.

We then went to Christ Church, one of the oldest churches in the US, founded in 1695. Some of the famous people who worshiped at this church were George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Morris, Betsy Ross....and the list goes on. Benjamin Franklin and four other signers of the Declaration Of Independence are buried at the cemetery there.

To top the day off we stopped by Franklin Fountain, which was featured on the Travel Channel, to share in a yummy ice cream sundae! It's a old time ice cream shop that specializes in home made desserts and treats. We all share the Franklin Mint Chip Here is a little blurb about what was in it (taken from their website) "A signature Franklin flavor is our White Peppermint ice cream swirled with green creme de menthe and dark bittersweet chocolate chunks. "Green or White?" we are always asked... Franklin, the great peacemaker, would have had both. It will satisfy the world."

I chopped off 7 inches!!!!

It's amazing how something like this can make you feel like a new women! It was time to start taking care of myself. Working full time with a family, spending all of my energy on the kids I really let my hair go. I was feeling so frumpy, wearing my hair slicked back in a pony tail every single day. It was definitely time for a change! My sweet future sister-in-law made the appointment and we went together to get our hair done :) I told the lady to brighten it up and give me a style that would defer me from putting it up all the time. So she did....and I am so happy with the results!!! Oh and so is my husband, I think he feels like he has a new women in the house. Here's to change!

Oh my baby is in preschool!!! It's the same school that both my husband and I went to when we were 4, so it's pretty special that now Nicholas can be apart of the legacy :) The school is in a brand new building with a bright classroom, huge lunch room, outside full equipped playground, and indoor soccer courts. The teacher along with the 3 other helpers are super nice. It just brings me peace to know he is in a safe environment and he loves his school.

It makes me a little weepy to think that my baby will be 2 on Friday. I was looking through pictures and came upon this one that was taken on her first birthday. The year really flew by! It's been another wonderful year, watching her grow and turn into her own little person. She is so full of energy and life. Everyday she finds a way to make us laugh and smile. She completes our family in every way and I thank God for bringing her into our lives.

Sherry from Babypop Designs sent my kids the coolest super hero capes and matching masks! They were ecstatic when I pulled the capes out of the package!!! They saw the bright and shiny material and begged me to put them on right away. So in not time at all they were transformed into Super Hero's! My son's cape is a dark blue with bright yellow and a big red letter "N" in the middle. His matching mask is adjustable and has lighting bolts on each side. He runs around the yard saving bugs and his little sister from danger. I noticed the cape really brought out his imagination and a helpful attitude toward others. His actions are positive and always rescuing everyone! My daughter's pretty dark pink princess cape, with a light pink crown that has a big purple "M" in the middle is super cute! She puts it on with the matching mask and transforms into "Super Mimi!" which she calls herself and says "To The Rescue!" It's so cute to watch her run back and forth with the cape waving in the wind. I am impressed by material and stitching quality. My kids wear them almost everyday and I have yet to see a nick or rip in them I am also happy to see how my kids come together and play rescue hero's together.
