Wordless & Wordful Wednesday ~ Saying Goodbye and A New Life

My 4 year old son Nicholas has the sweetest spirit.  There is just something inside of him that carries a deep concern for others.  He is also a deep thinker and you can catch him pondering situations through out the day.  Last week my husbands Grandmother passed away.  She was a wonderful and giving women who lived to be 90 years old.  When my husband and I sat him down to let him know that Great-Grandma passed away and went up to heaven to be with Jesus, he took a moment to grasp our words.  About a minute later he said "Mommy, won't Grandma hit her head on the ceiling while she is going up to heaven?" How was I suppose to answer that!  A couple minutes later he said "Grandma must be petting Maizy and Toby right now" our cat and my Mother-In-Law's dog that had both passed away this year. Hubby and I had to leave the room so he could not see us tear up. The simple words of a child can really blow you away.

We may have lost a life this past week but we gained a new member of the family on Father's Day! My Sister-In-Law gave birth to a healthy and beautiful little boy, Luke.  I am so happy for them and  I can't wait to hold and cuddle him :) Congrats Jason and Lisa!!!

Sorry to hear about your loss. Your son is adorable and only a child would say what he did after a loved one has passed on. Congratulations to your sister in law on their new addition. Life does go on.

Congrats on the new addition though.
Kids are astounding with how they perceive things- often much better at it than we who *know better* are.

Four year olds are awesome. When my grandson was that age he one day asked me where my grandma was. I told him she had died a long time ago and gone to heaven. He thought for a minute and then asked me if we'd flushed her down the toilet..... :)

Aw, it's never easy to lose someone, even when they've lived a long, long life and may be ready to go themselves.

Kids sure do have a way with words sometimes eh? ;-)

Lovely picture of you guys!

Congrats on the new little fella!
